The images in this collection actually come from a children's picture dictionary, but in a sense it is a storybook - the story of words and their meanings. This particular dictionary, first published in 1947, has the most fantastic illustrations I've ever seen - imaginative, joyous, vibrant & fresh. According to the publishers, this dictionary is "a picture book and a book of knowledge, but above all, a book of words and their meanings". I've carefully gone through the over 1100 illustrations and picked my favorites - feel free to create your own stories around them!
I first created a line of glass pendants with these illustrations in 2007, some of which were featured in the book 1001 Jewelry Designs. The line has since expanded to include earrings and rings - I am thrilled to be able to share these with you. Enjoy!
