Bettie Ann Lawrence was my grandmother - the woman who raised me from birth and let me stand on her shoulders to see over the wall she had her back against her whole life. What I was able to see, as a result of her support & encouragement, were opportunities, places, & experiences Granny could only dream of. She was practical, too - Granny always encouraged me to type, so one day I could be a secretary - she could not have imagined that I would one day run my own business where I make jewelry from typewriter keys.
